No tooling beyond what shown = list for $ 1500 and don't go lower than $ 1200, IMO. I'd be surprised to see that, but don't be afraid to "pop the hood" and show it off nonetheless. from mis-use will skew prices downwards considerably and remove a lathe in that condition from some of the potential buyers who don't want to get into those kinds of fixes. I'd also suggest the seller open the top shroud on the headstock and the end cover and take pix of the gears + pulleys.what we're telling you here is based on the assumption that these are without any issues.missing teeth, etc. It is could be "plug + play", except for tooling needs.some might see that as a negative - others want to finesse that stuff as they see fit anyway & go off in one direction or another. Overall, it is very clean and I'm assuming the seller will include the stand with hardwood top - be clear on that as well. I agree with earlier posted comments.this is a newer vintage ( that is good because of likely less wear.) lathe of the short bed length variety with the desirable quick-change gearbox. I would buy that lathe as a replacement for mine and sell mine, but as is in the pics with nothing I would offer at most $700. If it has all the tooling, then post it for $2500, he can always lower the price if he gets no interest. Make sure to also post pics of any/all tooling. So put it up for $1500 and see if someone bites. Your friends lathe is in nice shape, it might catch someone's eye. I didn't even get a low baller, the only person who replied wanted to know the through hole size and needed 1.25 which mine was not. I had mine up on kijiji for 1500 with everything some years back before I decided to actually try to use it, Mine came with tons of tooling but no quick change gearbox.

Without all that I would say he might move it for $1200.

If it came with all of that them maybe $1500-$2000. tools, milling attachment, live center, drills. Steady rest, follow rest, 4 jaw chuck, drill chuck, knurling, parting. Re: Could someone place a value on Atlas lathe?ĭepends on what comes with it.
